Dr. Othman Qadri Makansi

Dr. Othman Qadri Makansi is a Syrian writer, preacher, and academic, born in the city of Aleppo in 1947. He combines literary creativity with educational and intellectual interests. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Arabic language from the University of Aleppo (1970), a master’s degree from the University of Punjab in Lahore (1987), and a PhD in Ottoman literature from the Institute of Oriental Studies in Baku (1998). In 2018, he earned another PhD in the philosophy of ethics in the Qur’an and Sunnah from Suleiman International University. He worked as a teacher in Syria, then in Algeria, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, gaining rich experience in both education and preaching. Dr. Makansi has a wide literary output that includes poetry, stories, and educational literature. Among his notable poetry collections are Heartbeats and Heart’s Glow. His Islamic storytelling works include Stories Told by the Prophet (PBUH) and In the Gardens of the Prophet (PBUH). He also authored educational books such as Prophetic Education, Images of Education in the Qur’an, and Educational Reflections on Qur’anic Chapters. He has participated in conferences and cultural events across the Arab world and beyond, and contributed to numerous intellectual and Islamic platforms. His writings are distinguished by their deep-rooted Islamic values and refined literary style, making him one of the prominent figures in contemporary Islamic cultural discourse.
