Professor Dr. Turki Mustafa Mahmoud Al-Qadhi

Professor Dr. Turki Mustafa Mahmoud Al-Qadhi is a distinguished academic and legal scholar in the Arab world, specializing in Commercial Law and Comparative Jurisprudence, with notable contributions in scientific research, authorship, and international arbitration. He was born in Kirkuk, Iraq, on July 1, 1963, and grew up with a passion for knowledge, pursuing his academic path until he earned a PhD in Commercial Law from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies – League of Arab States in 2016. In addition, he holds advanced qualifications in International Arbitration, Islamic Sharia, and Computer Science, as well as specialized diplomas in English Language.

Dr. Al-Qadhi has accumulated decades of academic experience. He began his career as an instructor at the Iraqi Ministry of Education, then went on to hold academic positions in several universities inside and outside Iraq. Among his most prominent roles were: Head of the Private Law Department at the College of Law in Denmark, faculty member at the College of Law and Political Science at Ibn Al-Nafis University, and currently serving as Dean of the College of Law and Justice at Suleiman International University – Turkey, as well as Director of the Arab Agency for International Arbitration affiliated with the University. He also supervises numerous Master’s and PhD theses and was promoted to the rank of Full Professor (with First-Class Honors) in July 2021.

Dr. Al-Qadhi has left a clear mark in the field of legal scholarship and authorship. He has authored several reference books, including: “The Reserve Guarantee in Bills of Exchange and Checks” (2018), “The Check as a Means of Payment in Commercial Law” (2018), “The Elements of the Medical Contract” (2019), and “The Worker’s Patent and Its Legal Regulation” (2019). In addition, he has published multiple peer-reviewed research papers in Arab and international journals, addressing topics such as administrative judiciary in exceptional circumstances, protection of patents, electronic contracts, and the legal framework of commercial papers.

Beyond academia, Dr. Al-Qadhi plays an active role in international arbitration, serving as an International Arbitration Consultant at the Justice Center for International Arbitration in Cairo and the Middle East Center for International Arbitration. He has also been a member of the Iraqi Bar Association since 2001. Furthermore, he regularly participates in international conferences, symposia, and workshops, and produces research tackling contemporary issues such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on legal systems and human rights.
